This work package is essential to the coherence of all actions and for the development of dynamic exchange between project partners (4 Partners and 3 Associates). The complexity and dynamical approach of this project, as well as the societal impact, require a dual management policy and a broad range of skills:

1. The daily management  of the project in order to achieve deliverables according to the work plan, to provide timely reports, to organize meetings, to provide communication material, etc. The daily management calls for a coordinator with high level project management skills, including an ability to build an international operation team, and European project experience, as well as an efficiently operating management secretariat.
2. The strategic management  of the project in order to achieve the highest possible societal impact and scientific quality in a highly multi-disciplinary project. The strategic management calls for a broad interest and knowledge in the scientific domains (natural science, socio-economics, computer science, ...) as well as a strong network in the public arenas and, consequently, very good communication skills.

The Management Unit is built up with staff highly experienced, in EuropeAid Projects and already acquainted with procedure of reporting and project management.
